Massive airplane company Airbus prepares to enter competitive League of Legends scene
The world of esports looks set to welcome plane manufacturer Airbus after a mysterious Tweet was posted on October 27th.
The billion dollar company are based across Europe and designs, manufactures, and sells civil and military aeronautical products worldwide.
They’ve had very little experience with esports previously, but a Tweet on Friday October 27th appears to announce they’ve sponsored a new professional League of Legends team, who will go by the name of Out Of The Blue.
It’s unclear if this is an actual announcement or something that has been posted on the wrong account, at the wrong time. Rather than being posted by their main account, it was Tweeted by the @AirbusCareers profile, which normally advises on the latest job roles available in the company.
There’s also confusion about who they’re referring to with no current professional LoL team going under the name of Out Of The Blue.
The move would be the first time that Airbus would have sponsored a team, having only previously been associated with ESWC as part of a trade fair announced in June 2017.
