inchk1ing team permanently banned from CS: GO E-Frag competitions
Match-fixing have been a major problem with the Esports scene so far, and after few people got arrested in a similar case for StarCraft II earlier this week, it’s now this CS: GO team’s turn to be banned from competing.
Apparently, player Yiu “Hazy” Sang Wallace Leung placed many bets with his main account and other smurf ones on CSGOLounge on his team losing the semi finals of Rising Stars Promotional this April 22.
“Players involved in a match are not allowed to bet on matches in any way, Betting skins on CSGOLounge or any other website or betting real money irrelevantly on which team is one of the major offences, therefore we are prohibiting betting for anyone involved in an event hosted by E-Frag.net. Additionally, the match-fixing will result in an indefinite ban from any of our future tournaments.”
This isn’t the first time for a team to get banned because of match-fixing, as we saw iBUYPOWER in a similar situation last year.
