Kangaroo Roger Jr removed from Tekken 7 because of PETA complaints
PETA has gained a fair bit of hate in the gaming society for their unrealistic complaints, in fact so unrealistic that they demand some virtual fur to be removed from the clothes of Warhammer characters. This time? it’s Tekken’s Roger Jr’s turn.
The kangaroo character present in Tekken games past the fifth entry will be removed completely from Tekken 7 because of PETA complaints that this animal gets punched by humans. What’s funny is that Kuma (bear character) stays in because he’s “stronger than humans”, despite the fact that kangaroos are also “stronger than humans”. In fact, a kangaroo’s kick is considered lethal.
“It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists—even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.” said Katsuhiro Harada
Tekken 7 is coming for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in June, and will come with 38 playable fighters despite Roger Jr’s removal.
