Konami vows to bring more Metal Gear and Kojima ensures fans of his involvment in MGS V

After we’ve all seen the many news and rumors indicating that Mr Kojima and his team might be no longer involved in Metal Gear franchise, the legendary developer is back with a statement to ensure fans that he’s still fully involved in The Phantom Pain. No comments were made about what’s going on with Konami though.

“I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain,” he said. “I’m determined to make it the greatest game I’ve directed to date. Don’t miss it.”

Konami in its turn confirmed that the game’s release date is still intact with no delay. Not just that, but it was also announced that more Metal Gear high quality future titles will be produced after The Phantom Pain. Search for developers and directors had already begun.

“Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the METAL GEAR series following ‘MGSV: TPP’ We greatly anticipate and deeply appreciate your ongoing support for METAL GEAR.

“Thank you for your continued patronage of KONAMI products and services,” read the statement.

Kojima announced beforehand that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be his last game and with it he’ll close the loop of the saga, any future games might be under supervising of someone else. Will the future Metal Gear titles Konami announced have the same taste Kojima impressed us with for 25 years?

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is coming to PS3/4 and Xbox 360/One September 1 Whereas the PC version is due to September 15.
