Kratos son will Humanize him in the new God of War game

New details about Kratos’s mysterious son emerged and although no name was given to the boy yet, we have some new info on him.

We were all impressed with the new God of War demo that took place at last E3, but what stood out the most is the sort of relationship between Kratos and his new son. Apparently, the kid will be able to help you on your journey and he has a big role in both the story and gameplay.

Speaking with Gamesradar, gameplay engineering lead Jeet Shroff has explained how God of War will focus on a father/son relationship, and how fatherhood will change Kratos.

“Kratos has struggled with his rage and he blames his rage for a lot of his past mistakes”, says Shroff. “Now he has a son, he’s a father [and] Kratos is struggling with this idea of trying to bottle down this rage and shield his son from what he has inside of him. It’s a journey between you and your son…You play as Kratos but it’s a journey between both of you in the world.”

Very few details have been revealed about the child – not only is the identity of his mother a mystery, but SIE Santa Monica is yet to reveal his name.

God of War releases on PS4 sometime in the near future.
