Leaked photos of Playstation 4 “Slim” model appear online

Several pictures of what it seems to be the latest revision of Sony’s recent console have surfaced online. Could this be the PS4 Slim that we’re looking at right now ?

According to the leaked images, the new model holds the codename “Monolith” and is almost a final design. Many noticeable modifications can be seen as well as the significantly smaller size. It’s not weird that a slimmer design is to be released but the timing seems to be a bit too soon given that past Sony consoles have always gotten a newer model after a couple of years, while the PS4 is only in its second year so far. The firm’s financial figures and the newer technology that could be used to make a smaller less power hungry components might be two key factors for the new model.
