Microsoft testing “Free Play Day with Gold” on select Xbox One titles
Lately, some participants in the US Xbox One dashboard beta program spotted an interesting new addition to the Games with Gold section of the marketplace.
Microsoft are seemingly in the process of testing a new feature for Xbox Live Gold members which will allow them to play full Xbox One games for a 24 hour period at no cost. Last month’s Xbox One free Games with Gold title ‘Max: Curse of the Brotherhood’ seems to be the first game receiving this treatment as indicated by the ‘Free Play Day’ tag next to the game, seen in the image above.
It’s unclear right now whether this will just apply to select titles or whether Gold subscribers will be able to pick certain games each month but we’re certainly looking forward to what Microsoft are planning as it sure does sound neat.
The official Microsoft Xbox Twitter has indicated that an announcement will be made soon.
