Minecraft: Story Mode announced

In what might be the weirdest news you’ve read today, Minecraft is getting a Telltale Games treatment with an actual story driven installment for the game.

The new series, called Minecraft: Story Mode, will come with the traditional story focused play style of previous Telltale titles like The Walking Dead. The story is to be made with the help of the community and will be released in episodes.

“We’re not intending on creating an “official” story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game,” said Mojang.

Minecraft: Story Mode is to be released on PC, Xbox 360/One, PlayStation 3/4 and mobile phones in 2015. More details to be revealed soon
