MLG will continue to operate as usual under Activision

You can put your fears aside now, in case you got worried in some way or the other about the future of MLG that had been recently acquired by Activision. The firm didn’t only confirm the news today, but calmed down the fans and players that everything will be going as normal under the title of Activision with no apparent change.

The $46 million dollars deal to buy MLG was a bit of a surprise for some, but when looking at MLG’s record for the past months, the company was suffering some loses and rough times. Activision’s deal came to save the day and is the reason that MLG will continue to organize more tournaments.

According to the reports, Activision is seeking to become the ESPN of Esports, by morphing from a video games publisher and developer to a big entertainment organization. The new deal is falls under the Activision Blizzard Media Networks which is aiming to cover Esports world.

“MLG will continue to operate MLG.tv, MLG Pro Circuit and GameBattles platforms, and will continue to work with its partners and other publishers across the industry.”

Activision Blizzard promises to deliver premium content to the 100 million audience of Esports, as it’s one of the biggest audiences in all sports. It’s expected that the audience might reach the 300 million mark by 2017.
