More G2A sponsored teams are shutting down
After abandoning the world’s best Hearthstone team yesterday, G2A continues to make changes to its sponsorship deals with the closure of Team Archon officially.
Just a day after closing down Na’Vi’s Hearthstone division it seems that another great team for the same team is going the same route, as it was confirmed by Jason “Amaz” Chan in a stream yesterday. It looks like the process of sponsoring teams at G2A is changing and thus the team wasn’t getting enough funds which led to its closure.
Archon was one of the most successful esports teams to appear on the Hearthstone scene in 2015. They housed World Champion James ‘Firebat’ Kostesich, and also strong talents in Paul ‘Zalae’ Nemeth, as well as Jon ‘Orange’ Westburg. The team made several attempts at a Dota 2 squad, but was never able to make a significant impact.
G2A will probably be focusing on major games from now on as it’s the main sponsor of Virtus Pro and Na’Vi squads.
