NBA’s Miami Heat invests in Esports
One of the most well-known NBA teams around the world is entering Esports with a new investment that was announced yesterday.
The 10th richest NBA club worth $1.3 Billion dollars put it in front of his eyes to get into the growing market of Esports, as it invested in the Esports organization “Misfits“. Misfits includes teams for games like League of Legends, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm and more.
The announcement was made that Miami Heat bought a stake in Misfits without declaring the deal’s details by any party as of now.
“The Miami Heat pride ourselves on being innovative in all aspects of sports and business. For us, it made perfect sense to partner with Misfits, a young and ambitious franchise in a sport that is blazing a trail in terms of 21st century recreational competition amongst Millennials.” Statement from the Heat Chief Executive Officer Nick Arison.
Misfits will be rebranding their colour scheme from orange to black and red, falling in line with the Miami Heat colour scheme.
