New record for signed in users on Steam
Digital distribution platform Steam saw a peek in the number of players during the holidays, but it was only a couple of days ago that the last year’s record has been broken by over a 500 thousand players increase, reaching a huge number of 8.5 million users logged in compared to the 8,020,000 we saw in June 2014.
One of the obvious reason for such a feat was of course the Steam holiday sale with its great discounts and offers that attracted buyers everywhere, as it included thousands of titles both old and very recently released.
Dota 2 still sets on top as the most played game online with a number of players reaching 879,827. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came in the second place with 383,584 players while other names included Team Fortress 2 in third and Football Manager 2015 in fourth.
