No Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 story campaign for PS3 and Xbox 360

Bad news for all of the Call of Duty fans who are still using their last-gen consoles, as the single-player campaign won’t be present in these versions according to an offical announcement.

The reason for ditching that mode all together is the same that we saw in similar game cancellations for these consoles: Hardware Limitation. Activision said they couldn’t achieve what they wanted with the older hardware so they decided to only release the game’s multiplayer for PS3 and Xbox 360, in addition to a free copy of Black Ops 1 to make up for it.

“The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.” reads the official blog post.

Other features like Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools won’t be available in the multiplayer as well and are only on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game will cost $50 for last-gen and comes with a bonus download code for the original Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is coming to PC, PS3/4 and Xbox One/360 November 6.
