No more big games from Konami except for Pro Evolution Soccer
We’ve previously acknowledged the company’s intention to focus more on mobile games and Pachinko machines, but we didn’t think it’ll stop making AAA games completely. Sadly, this might be true as a French gaming website posted a while ago. It’s the same site that delivered the news of Fox Engine’s director’s departure which turned out to be true.
According to the site, Konami will stop supporting and funding the development of any new AAA games projects. The company had been in a lot of hate recently because of what it did to “Hideo Kojima” and the cancellation of Silent Hills. This means no new console games from Konami except for the PES franchise which will continue without being affected. If the article is true, that means Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was the last we saw from the once-giant game company and one of the more important developers.
We’re awaiting an official comment on the matter. Until then, Metal Gear Online 3 is still coming this October for consoles as well as January 2016 for PC.
