Overwatch Pacific Championship begins broadcasting in English
Blizzard’s latest Overwatch tournament, the Asia-Pacific Overwatch Pacific Championship series begins today, and it’s been announced that the league will have an official English broadcast.
Held in Taipei, Tawain, the Overwatch Pacific Championship sees eight teams from Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Australia fight against each other in a 13-week tournament series with a total prize pool of $273,000. Having an Australian team competing made Blizzard opt for an English broadcast that will be handled by Australian esports organization Full Circle Esports.
Teams participating in the Overwatch Pacific Championship include Taiwanese teams ahq Esports Club, Flash Wolves, and Machi Esports; Japanese teams DeToNator GOLD and SunSister; Thai team FireBall; Hong Kong–based roster Hong Kong Attitude; and Australian lineup Blank Esports. The English broadcast should help introducing these teams to worldwide fans.
