
Overwatch won’t be a free to play game and new characters revealed
Blizzard’s most anticipated upcoming game won’t be a free to play title like many thought. Unlike other competing titles with same principles like Team Fortress 2, team-based multiplayer shooter “Overwatch” will be fully paid when you buy it on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The announcement came at BlizzCon 2015 by Blizzard representatives. Game will have 21 heroes with unique abilities and powers, and they will be included in all versions of the game. Speaking of the game’s different versions, there are three announced ones which are the Standard Edition that comes for 40$, Origins Edition for $60 and Collector’s Edition for $130.
Standard edition of the game comes with the base game and all of the heroes without any additions, while Origins edition is distinct by free skins for 5 character: Reaper, Soldier: 76, Bastion, Chief Pharah and Tracer. Limited Collector’s Edition has the same content as Origins in addition to a full-color art book, Soundtrack DVD, and a small statue of Soldier: 76.
In addition to announcing the several versions of the game, fans got some new info on 3 characters that got recently revealed. They are:
- Genji (offensive)- The cybernetic ninja assassin who can reflect enemy attacks with his blade.
- D.Va (tank) – A former pro-gaming superstar who pilots an experimental military mech.
- Mei (defense) – A scientist who uses climate-manipulating technology in battle.
