Payday 3 is in development

Starbreeze, the publisher once more to the Payday franchise and owner of its rights revealed last night that the franchise will go on with a third installment on PC and consoles in the near future.

The announcement came after it was revealed that 505 Games are no longer the publishers and Starbreeze are back for that spot. The first move to be done by the team is to remove all forms of microtransactions from Payday 2 which were despised by players who criticized its sudden inclusion in the game.

According to the Swedish company, Payday 3 is in development, and 505 Games will retain a 33 percent of the game’s revenue, capped at $40 million. No more details were shared about Payday 3, other than that it’s coming “in the future.”

Meanwhile, Payday 2 will continue to get more content for the next 18 months.
