PUBG Global Invitational 2018 officially revealed with huge prize pool money

It looks like we’re about to witness the biggest Battle Royale tournament of its kind, as developers officially announced PUBG Global Invitational 2018 with some big cash money on the line

It’s no secret that the ultimate goal for the creator Brendan Greene was to make PUBG into a big esport, but we still didn’t expect it would happen this soon. Yet that’s where we are. PUBG Corp announced the PUBG Global Invitational 2018 and it’s to be held this summer in Berlin, Germany, where 20 teams will compete for a $2 million prize pool.

The Invitational will have two world champions: One for first-player perspective, and another for third-person. This tournament isn’t the first of its kind for PUBG, but that $2 million prize pool absolutely raised the bar compared to Gamescom’s $350,000 figure.

The PUBG Global Invitation 2018 will take place from July 25-29, 2018, with qualifiers determining teams from different regions including Europe, North America, Asia, and even the Middle East.
