Red Dead Redemption devs’ next game will have “State-of-the-Art” graphics
Rockstar San Diego, the studio behind the wonderful Red Dead Redemption is now hiring graphics programmers to help achieve state-of-the-art graphics in their next project. Is that an indication to Red Dead Redemption 2?
In one of the jobs’ vacancies posted on Rockstar website many noticed the description to the job, which says that the candidate will “develop new and enhance existing graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, culling, scene management and others) to help achieve state-of-the-art visuals.” This person will also “work with others to expand our next-generation graphics pipeline including advanced lighting and rendering techniques, and special effects.”
The focus on lighting and shadows in addition to mentioning “open world elements” gave fans the feelings that work might have already started on a sequel to RDR. It’ll be interesting to see how far would Rockstar go with graphics that are aimed to be state of the art.
Red Dead Redemption released in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
