Rise of the Tomb Raider sales on PC are 3:1 to Xbox
It looks like the PC market was underestimated this time again, as the sales for the Rise of the Tomb Raider which released last month were a lot higher than on the Xbox.
According to a new analysis by Superdata, Lara’s latest adventure sold as many copies as 3:1 on PC to its Xbox counterpart during the first month of release. The low sales on Xbox were said to have been affected by the tight release schedule. However, sales have been better on PC because of the critical acclaim of the game and an empty time window.
“Initial sales numbers on digital console for Rise of the Tomb Raider were soft, due to sharing its release date with Fallout 4 and its exclusivity to Xbox One,” CEO Joost van Dreunen said.
“The game sold almost three times as many units on PC than it did on console during its first month.”
No specific numbers were given but Superdata research firm is well-known enough to be trusted. Anyway, Rise of the Tomb Raider is now available on Xbox One/360 and PC.
