
SK eliminated today from ELEAGUE Premier 2017 by a sudden force!
We may not have expected this sudden amount of surprises in one tournament, but the ELEAGUE Premier 2017 has already done so, and we bring you today some interesting surprises.
SK Gaming got revenge from their ESL One New York semifinal match against Liquid, by winning two out of the three maps played at the ELEAGUE Arena in Atlanta. They started out losing big on Inferno, 8-16, but brought it back on Overpass, 16-8, and Mirage, 19-17.
As SK won in the final map two of the three first rounds of the overtime, as Liquid were able to get their one round of the first overtime half to give them a chance to bring it back on the CT side. The North Americans started by winning the first round, tying it 17-17. SK didn’t throw the towel, however, and won the following two rounds to close the match out, 19-17, and stay alive in the tournament.
however Heroic have pulled off a massive upset in ELEAGUE Premier’s Group D decider, sending SK home following a 2-1 win (Overpass 8-16, Inferno 16-5, Mirage 16-8).
The map to decide it all was Mirage. Starting as Counter-Terrorists, Heroic picked up a massive lead from the get-go, winning the first seven rounds without a response from SK.
The Brazilian side clinched a round amongst chaos, but the next three went the other way. A close-quarters fight in middle costHeroic the following anti-eco, and SK went on to grab two more rounds by the end of the half, much thanks to FalleN’s 1v2 at the end.
A fast A split sent Heroic to 14-4 despite two scary rounds up against low buys, but it took the Danes a while before they could close out the series. SK held on for four rounds, but then niko turned up with a mouth-watering triple in an eco round, which helped his squad complete the massive upset at 16-8, 2-1.
