StarCraft II Proleague Round 3 Grand Finals to be held in Shanghai
The major StarCraft II tournament is headed abroad for the first time since its inception, reveals Intel.
StarCraft II Proleague Round 3 is apparently leaving Korea for the first time to be held in Shanghai thanks to the efforts of the likes of IEM and KeSPA. The 2016 SC2 Proleague Round 3 features seven teams competing in a series of best-of-five matches across six weeks. Each team fields a different player for each game in the match. The top four teams will advance to the Playoffs, with the two best teams competing in a best-of-seven Grand Final.
“KeSPA has been a part of the StarCraft esports scene in Korea for more than ten years, We are extremely honored that they have chosen IEM Shanghai to host their first event ever outside of Korea. I expect we will see some intense competition in the Grand Finals.”
The Grand Finals take place on July 31, while IEM Shanghai will run from July 28-31.
