Story mode DLC for GTA V won’t be released anytime soon and no new Heists
Even though Rockstar initially talked about a single-player story DLC that was planned for release, it looks like it won’t be coming anytime soon -if ever- thanks to the huge success of GTA Online that shifted the developers focus.
Everyone who worked on GTA V are now on board for upcoming Online updates, the multiplayer portion of the game that has more than 8 million players logging in weekly. That’s what Imran Sarwar confirmed in the latest interview regarding the game.
“Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations, We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity.”
Don’t expect any new Heists as well, as those proved to be really hard to make. Instead, the developers intend on delivering new contents that are faster to make.
” “Heists encourage people to play together while giving them the chance to earn serious amounts of cash. However, as we’ve said before they were also a lot harder to make than we initially thought they would be, and it took us multiple tries to come up with the design that we eventually launched – but we believe and hope it was well worth the wait for everyone.”
Upcoming GTA Online titled Freemode Events introduce public events to the players every 12 minutes. It releases on PC, PS4 and Xbox One with last gen consoles no longer receiving updates due to hardware limitations.
