Study Shows that the average gaming time in a week is 22 hours for US gamers

NPD group did a study about video games in the United States of America and came up with some interesting results, it seems that the average playing time for 34 million US gamers is 22 hours a week.

This number doesn’t include those who play with their smartphones or similar devices , as it focuses on core gamers that are older than 9 years old and spend a minimum of 5 hours a week playing on their PC or home console , and play at least one traditional game of action, adventure , fighting , MMO , Racing , RTS , RPG and shooting genres . The study also showed that two thirds of those gamers play on their smartphones occasionally too.

Other interesting numbers include that 74% prefer physical media over digital , and 70% play multiplayer games regularly or occasionally .

The survey was done on 7.927 person in the United states .
