Syrian ESports Association holds its first meeting after IeSF membership approval
The Syrian Association of Electronic Sports (SESA) has announced the details of its first meeting, which will be held in the presence of a number of the most prominent players in the country. It comes after being officially admitted to the IeSF international esports organization earlier this day
The Syrian Association for Electronic Sports is the first and only official organization to date in the Syrian Arab Republic. It started its activities in 2018 with the introduction of a number of tournaments in several games, notably League of Legends, Dota 2, PES and more. In addition, the association organized the Asian Games 2018 qualifiers to offer the opportunity to a number of local teams that have shown an encouraging start to the country’s official competitive video games field.
The association will hold a meeting that will discuss the current state of esports in the country and hear the views of the professional players community to create a clearer idea of the local competitive landscape. The Syrian ESports Association (SESA) has also become a member of the Brazilian WESCO Association for Electronic Sports, according to the official post via its Facebook page. With IeSF and WESCO recognizing the organization, it is safe to say that the future of esports in the Syrian Arab Republic seems promising indeed, especially after a few years of absence from the arena of major Arab competitions, joining a number of neighboring countries, most notably Egypt, United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
