Tekken X Street Fighter is still happening
It’s been months since we last heard anything about Capcom and Namco’s co-developed brawler which was announced alongside Street Fighter X Tekken. The later released two years ago yet we’re still waiting for any info on Namco’s version of the crossover. However, Katushiro Harada comes back again to confirm that the development is still intact and there is a team of 40 people working on the title.
Harada spoke briefly in an interview about his original intention to release the game much earlier yet it faced delays due to how fighting games saturated the market. There are 40 developers right now continuing the development but the priority as of now for Namco is Tekken 7.
“People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren’t going to be surprised if you just release it normally,” indicating that he’s looking to surprise the people with the game when it resurfaces again.
In related news, Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 are well into development, the first to be released exclusively on PS4 and PC with no given release date and the Second on last gen consoles this year.
