These two teams are going to the first Overwatch Apex finals

The two finalists of Overwatch Apex’s Season 1, organized by OGN are now set after two months of 16 teams playing against each other. It now boils down to Afreeca Freecs Blue against Team EnVyUs on the first place and the biggest share of the $178,000 prize pool.

The tournament’s playoffs have subverted expectations in nearly every possible way. In the quarter finals BK Stars were the only higher seeded team to advance, while AF Blue beat out Reunited in that half of the bracket. Over on the other side, two huge upsets saw EnVyUs take down Rogue, and Kongdoo Uncia defeat Lunatic-Hai.

With the two tournament favourites out, Kongdoo’s exceptional new form made them the new favourites, anticipated to face BK Stars coming from the weaker half of the bracket. The semi-finals however also refused to stick to the script, with AF Blue sneaking their way to a 3-1 victory over BK Stars, and EnVyUs taking the win over Kongdoo Uncia 3-2 with the help of super stand-in Pongphop ‘Mickie’ Rattanasangohod

Team EnVyUs and Afreeca Freecs Blue will battle for the title on December 3rd.
