Tunisia is set to establish a video games university soon

The dream of every young video games fan in the region is getting closer to reality starting in Tunisia, with talks of a gaming university that looks into establishing young players and organize them officially.

A meeting between Youth and Sports minister “Majdolin Al-sharni” with general director of the Tunisian association of video games “Ahmad Sheikh Roho” reflected on the esports scene in the country, confirming that a university for competitive video games should be established as soon as possible, in order to solidify the important role of young Tunisian pro players on the international field, especially after the success of the national team in reaching the video games world championship last year.

Authorities support for the local esports scene dates back to September of last year, with talks about a specialized video games university going on between the association and the Tunisian Telecommunications minister back then.

Tunisia is holding the qualifiers for the world championship in 1st and 2nd of July, with finals taking place in South Korea next November.
