Tunisian associations planning to establish the first Middle Eastern Esports college
Last week, members of the Tunisian Video Games Association had a meeting with the telecommunication minister in the country discussing Esports and the participation of Tunisian players in the World Championship next month. Today, news about establishing the first-ever Arab Esports college have emerged.
The effort comes in the shadow of many successful ventures for the Esports scene in Tunisia thanks to dedicated organizations and associations giving players the competitive environment they want. Eleven Tunisian players will be traveling to Jakarta next month for the World Championship in Esports and the government will be fully supporting them while excusing them from their educational duties.
Going back to the Esports college, the idea seem to have pleased the government side with support from the Sports and Youth ministry under one term which is to have at least 8 or 9 associations for the players to run the college as well as putting rules to organize the matter. It might be still too early to get excited but the mere idea being discussed now is a light of hope for a more serious approach towards the competitive scene in the region.
