Two Halo legends officially announce retirement from the scene
A new announcement took the world of competitive Halo by storm, as two of the most legendary individuals in the game’s history, Brett “Naded” Leonard and Ryan “Towey” Towey hang their sticks with Evil Geniuses.
This announcement came late on Sunday evening through an Evil Geniuses press release, where it said that Naded will no longer compete with the team, and that Towey will shift towards a more managerial role for the EG organization in favor of coaching or competing in Halo.
In terms of replacements, Naded’s player spot will be taken over by Josbe ‘Tapping Buttons’ Valadez, who is a promising young Mexican player. As for Towey’s coaching spot, another Halo veteran Tom ‘OGRE2’ Ryan will be at the helm of this Evil Geniuses roster, coming from his previous role in the organization as a streamer and analyst for the team.
Naded said that his retirement came down to “wanting to move on from competing in 4v4s and focusing my time into new things.” Towey’s personal farewell was posted on his personal tweeter account, promising of more information to come.
Both Naded and Towey have shaped the landscape of Halo esports, with Naded being a longtime competitor since the Halo 2 days, and with Towey being one of the most successful coaches in the history of the esport.
