Online petition to oppose UAE’s Discord ban gathers hundreds of signatures

UAE gamers had it rough for the past few weeks ever since Discord, Teamspeak3 and more online voice chatting services were banned in the country, but they’re not ready to give up just yet as they continue fighting against the Discord ban

In a new attempt to oppose the decision in banning gaming VoIP services players have turned their eyes towards Change.org, the famous petitions website in order to gather votes that represent an important community of internet users in the country.

“This ban had destroyed my relationships with my friends all over the world. I used to use discord for communicating while gaming, doing events, doing business. Discord made a great change in my life. It saved me so much time!
Theres no point in banning this ban other than encourage people to use VPN and go against the law.”One message on the petition’s page reads. Another 200 signatures seem to be sharing the same thought regarding the ban so far.

Banning Discord and Teamspeak3 is something that a lot of people feared coming, as VoIP services were being actively halted in the UAE like Skype and other mobile applications.

Whether you were one of the people suffering from the ban or perhaps have some online friends inside the UAE, you can head over to the petition’s page to share your opinion on why should a solution be found. The current goal is 500 signatures before passing the message to “Etisalat UAE” who had first blocked access to these applications.
