UMG Online Ban Infinite Warfare Weapon and MWR Perk
A new set of bans for Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered have been announced by UMG for their online tournaments.
The new rules come into effect as of Monday December 5th at 2pm EST (11am PST, 7pm GMT, 5am AEST), with the OSA being removed from IW and Deep Impact removed from MWR. The rules will be applicable for all arena, cash out and tournament matches.
It comes as no surprise to see the OSA Assault Rifle banned from competitive play in IW, with the majority of teams all using the weapon at the PSX Invitational on December 3rd and 4th. The fast fire rate, high damage and low recoil make it the obvious choice for players, regardless of whether they’d previously been an SMG or AR player.
UMG have advised that they will remove the ban if, like the Volk, it is nerfed and the gun stats are changed.
For MWR the Deep Impact problem has been solved, with players pre-firing walls in order to get kills that many have said weren’t possible during the original Call of Duty 4.
The removal of the perk is likely to be permanent as it’s not believed that any game adjustments are planned to be made, due to being a remastering of a classic.
