Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End opening sequence to be the best yet for Naughty Dog

You’ve undoubtedly shed few tears when playing The Last of Us for the first time (whether you’ll admit it or not, we understand). The whole opening sequence was gut-wrenchingly emotional and placed it as one of the best openings in video games. However, for this Naughty Dog director a new contender is coming to triumph even The Last of Us’s effort.

In a new interview with PlayStation Espana, communications director Arne Meyer spoke a bit about Nathan Drake’s last adventure, describing it as one of the best games the studio worked on. In Meyer’s opinion, Uncharted 4 has the best opening in Naughty Dog’s history even beating The Last of Us.

“In my personal opinion, this is our strongest beginning, opening sequence for games since the Last of Us, which was obviously very emotional, But I think this is probably one of the best opening sequences as well. That feeling of wanting to keep playing and wanting to know where it goes continues the entire game.”

The constant praise of the game didn’t come from insiders only, as Quantum Break’s developer Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake also said the game has “Raised the bar”.

We’ll see that for ourselves when Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases exclusively for PS4 May 10.
