Virtus.Pro will miss IEM next week and here’s why
One of the best CS: GO teams out there is missing out on yet another tournament, as the Russian champions have put down attending IEM Oakland.
The Intel sponsored event will see 12 teams from across the world including NAVI, NiP and SK Gaming competing to win their share of the $300,000 prize pool November 16th and 20th at Oracle Arena. Virtus.Pro was one of the planned teams, but management had to turn down the offer as the team needs a break between all of the online qualifiers and the hectic schedule.
“It was a hard call to make, but after long and careful consideration we have decided to withdraw from IEM Oakland. It’s been extremely hard as we know how much our fans on West Coast have been looking forward to see some real VP action. We’ve had a very hard period during last couple of months with tournaments and online qualifiers filling almost every single day. Today we feel that to keep on performing on top level and make sure we deliver the right emotions to all our fans worldwide we need to make a small break and concentrate on upcoming events. California, we now have a debt to pay, so see you next year!” Roman Dvoryankin, Virtus.pro General Manager
Replacing VP will be “Heroic”, the Danish squad that went through a roster change and losing Lukas ‘Gla1ve’ Rossander to Astralis. Heroic dropped out of ESWC in 9th/16th after losing to Fnatic’s Academy team and suffered a group stage exit at the EU Minor in Bucharest a week later.
