Will the age of Denuvo come to an end? Video shows cracked Rise of the Tomb Raider

Over the past two years panic had struck many gamers all around the world when big game releases started using the new Denuvo protection system, which proved to be the best method to counter piracy to this day as it has been deemed uncrackable for a long period of time.

Games like DOOM, FIFA, Rise of The Tomb Raider and more are still not available to play for free using torrents and such. The system is so far on the right track to encourage people to go and buy the games legally to support developers, and while we don’t personally like games piracy it was still fun to watch this ongoing battle.

Chinese cracking team 3DM was the first to break-in into Denuvo and crack some earlier titles. However, they announced not long ago that they will not be participating anymore so they can see how well games would do without being pirated before deciding to continue this work. This statement did not prevent others from trying, but most of them failed.

That was until now. A new video by a Russian hacker called “Bronco” claims that the protection system might have been cracked at last with him showing live gameplay from the latest Tomb Raider game. Now before you start celebrating just remember that the crack works only on his PC at the moment, and it will take weeks if not months for the fully working crack to be released to everyone. Still, it’s one step in the right direction for relentless pirates who justify their work with many reasons including “trying out the game to see if it’s any good” before buying.
