Will we be able to play Overwatch wherever we want on the Switch?
Looking at the tens of millions of copies sold and numerous Game of the Year titles, it’s hard not to notice that Overwatch is a pretty big thing for gamers. What could make the excellent FPS title from Blizzard even better? Having it everywhere of course!
Well, this isn’t exactly too far from becoming a reality, as a little tease by Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan gave us some hope to see the popular competitive shooter of last year on Nintendo Switch, the newest kid on the block. For those of you who didn’t know what Switch is, it’s a console/tablet hybrid that you can either connect to your TV or take it wherever you want and enjoy full home console experience on the go.
When asked in a Reddit AMA thread whether or not Blizzard is thinking about porting the game to the Switch, Kaplan answered that it’s definitely possible, but it won’t be easy. “Getting Overwatch on the Switch is very challenging for us,” said Jeff. “But we’re always open minded about exploring possible platforms.”
Released in early March, the Nintendo Switch is already standing on its legs at 1.5 million units sold so far. It wouldn’t be a bad investment from Blizzard so please maybe? Until then, Overwatch is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
