World of Warcraft loses 3 million subscribers in 3 months
Despite the recent release of the expansion Warlords of Draenor, the MMO giant World of Warcraft seems to has finally started to show its age. After a couple of million subscribers decided to walk away from the 10-years old game.
According to Blizzard’s financial reports, the current subscribers count of World of Warcraft sits at 7.1 million as of the end of last March. When comparing to the numbers of the last year’s closure which recorded 10 million subscribers it’s safe to say that the MMORPG is losing its charm, maybe because of the other kings in the online gaming field like Dota 2 and League of Legends, or perhaps it’s the dated graphics and gameplay mechanics.
That’s not to say that World of Warcraft is now irrelevant, because even with a hefty lose like this one it still manages to be by far the most famous MMO game worldwide and sits on the top of the most subscribed games ever.
World of Warcraft released in 2004 by Blizzard which was later on acquired by Activision in the recent years.
