World of Warcraft number of players is the highest since years after Legion expansion
It didn’t look good for World of Warcraft the past couple of years with losses reaching millions of players unsubscribing to the MMO game, which came due to several reasons like having newer games or Blizzard’s lackluster expansions. That was until Legion arrived, which saw more players playing at one moment than any other time since several years.
“We knew this expansion was going to be something for the books, but reception has just blown us away,” Blizzard revealed during a panel at PAX West “The early reviews are coming in, they’re really positive. Fan reception has been phenomenal. Concurrency – we’ve had to check and triple check our numbers, because it’s the highest they’ve been in recent memory. Several years, for sure.”
We might never know if the increase brought back some of the lost subscribers, as Blizzard made it clear it will not be sharing numbers anymore after the big loss last year.
World of Warcraft: Legion is now available to play on PC.
