Xbox One Scorpio specs detailed
PS4 Pro step aside, there’s a new king in the console market and its (code)name is Scorpio.
Digital Foundry Youtube released the specs for the upcoming Microsoft console, Project Scorpio, after being invited to the tech giant to witness the newest iteration of the Xbox One.
The main goal of the new console is providing the best visuals possible at True 4K resolution, rendering every game on that resolution. To achieve that, Microsoft designed the console with the following specs:
- CPU: Eight custom x86 cores
- GPU: 6 teraflops
- RAM: 12GB GDDR5
- 1TB Hard Drive
- Memory bandwidth: 326GB/s
- 4k, 1080p
This puts the Xbox Scorpio above the PS4 Pro, and as the video by Digital Foundry shows, the hardware optimization of the console puts it in direct comparison to PC high-end machines as it was able to run Forza Horizon 6 on 4K at 60fps and only 66% GPU utilization. It will be interesting to see what the new console will look like and more importantly the price, which is most likely going to be revealed at next E3.
