Metro 2033 movie is under production

More great news keep coming on games to movies adaptions. Yesterday Half-Life, and now Metro 2033 according to one source.

Now, granted the movie will follow the novel more directly than the game as that was another adaption of the novel anyway, but they’re still basically the same thing minus some details and events exclusive to the books series. The movie will follow the journey of Artyom who lived the rest of his life in the metros after being born into the outside world before the nuclear war wiped Moscow.

The movie was presented to Hollywood by Dmity Glukhosvky himself, who ever since starting to write the novel had dreamed of seeing it on the big screen.

“My novel and I have been waiting for this to happen for the last ten years,” Glukhovsky said. “I have previously been extremely careful about handing my ‘baby’ over to Hollywood producers for adaption for a feature film, but now I feel that it has landed in the right hands. Producers Michael De Luca and Stephen L’Heureux have a great vision for this project, and I feel it’s an honor to work with them.”

Metro: Last light is the most recent game in the franchise, remastered for next gen and released as Redux in 2014 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
