Free Trial of Overwatch could be on the way

Mining game files proved to be an effective method of uncovering upcoming announcements, and just yesterday people have found that we may get a free version of Overwatch soon.

According to miners, many lines hinting at a Free Trial of sort where found in game files after the latest update such as “Sorry, the Overwatch Free Trial is not available at this time,” “Group members using trial cannot enter competitive play,” and “Not available for trial.” All of which players would theoretically see if they’re playing using a free trial version.

When remembering that many people wished for Overwatch to be a free to play title only to be surprised later it isn’t, this move seems wise from Blizzard to win some more fans to its games by offering the game minus some of its competitive features. Anyway, we’ll be waiting for official confirmation.

In related news, Overwatch recently got a new patch that adds some changes and most noticeably nerfes Genji. You can’t double jump each time you scale a wall, do damage to traps by dashing, or use the Dragonblade for 8 seconds as it’s now limited to 6

Overwatch is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
