New IEM Katowice 2018 details emerge
ESL has announced more details about the upcoming IEM Katowice 2018, which is now one of the largest IEM events ever.
ESL has announced more details about the Asian and the Oceanic qualifiers for IEM Katowice.
As announced earlier this month, half of the 16 spots at IEM Katowice will be determined by a series of regional qualifiers, to be held online in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania.
In the latter two regions, which have been allocated one slot apiece, the qualifying process will begin with two open qualifiers. The winners of these cups will then progress to a closed qualifier, joining four teams invited by ESL in a double-elimination bracket, with the final featuring a best-of-five format.
Below you can find the teams who have been invited to take part in the closed qualifiers:
Asia | Oceania |
TyLoo | Grayhound |
TheMongolz | Chiefs |
B.O.O.T-d[S] | Tainted Minds |
Flash | ex-Kings |
Teams can sign up for the Asian qualifiers by going here, with the list of countries available to participate in these tournaments being available here. The registration process for the Oceanic qualifiers can be done here.
IEM Katowice 2017 will have $500,000 on offer – the biggest prize pool in the history of the event – and will culminate with the playoffs at the Spodek Arena, in Katowice, from March 2-4.
