We may end up getting two Modern Warfare releases this year after all
It seems that we may not only get one Modern Warfare this year, but two according to new reports indicating that a new remaster of the favorite online game for Call of Duty fans, Modern Warfare 2, is on the way
The news came after fans noticed by chance a new classification from PEGI talking about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remaster for the PS4. Age ratings are usually done shortly before the announcement of a game, so it’s safe to say that we are about to see an announcement by Activision of this remaster, which seems to include the campaign mode with improved graphics, without a mention of multiplayer yet.
This may not come as a real surprise to the fans of the game, especially after we got a remaster of Modern Warfare 1 three years ago that launched along with the special edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and then separately on home consoles and PC (in fact, it’s part of the free PS Plus games for this month).
It is believed that we will be getting another Modern Warfare game this year too, with hints from one of the previous developers that Modern Warfare 4 is under development after a long absence. Will this mean that we will see Modern Warfare 2 Remaster as part of a special package, as happened with Infinite Warfare in 2016? This may be the case, but we can not confirm the validity of this information until the arrival of the official announcement, which may come in the next few weeks.
