Call of Duty: Modern Warfare becomes the most successful release of this gen

There was no doubt Activision’s return to Modern Warfare series again would bring in such positive results. The MW Releases have always been the best Call of Duty has to offer with addictive and realistic gameplay, unforgettable maps and a professionally knitted storyline with its beloved characters. The 2019 edition is back with all of this again, and it found its success

It seems that the Call of Duty series will not stop dazzling us any time soon, as it achieves unprecedented achievements with its releases every year. The 2019 game of Modern Warfare continues the tradition of the series by hopping over the previous versions, with Activision revealing that the new iteration has officially become the most played for this generation of devices, ending the current decade in the best possible way.

Achieving that was not easy, as previous releases since 2013 included successful games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and WWII, but the name Modern Warfare was enough to bring many former players back to the series, where 500 million hours have been played with over 300 million multiplayer matches since October.

“The momentum for Modern Warfare from day one has been incredible,” said Byron Beede, executive vice president and general manager for Call of Duty, Activision. “Players are having a great time and are continuing to engage across the multiplayer experience at the highest level in years. We’re also seeing new franchise highs for this console generation in hours played, hours per player and average daily players. Players are having a great time, and there’s much more to come as we continue to deliver new content.”

There is no doubt that the sales figures support those statements as well, MW 2019 has achieved a huge number of $ 1 billion since its launch a few months ago and so far, one of the best-selling CoD releases before the year ends.

Although it is not a perfect game, the new version still gets continuous updates that come in response to requests from players, as today it got version 1.12 of the PC and home consoles that add the new Nikto operator, Shipment, Vacant and Winter Docks maps, and many other fixes as an additional reduction of footsteps sounds and several improvements include the ability to assign an auto movement button.
