Astralis to the top again after IEM Beijing marvelous win

It may have looked like the Astralis era came to an end after losing in a few recent tournaments, but the Danes are once again proving why they are considered the best team in CS: GO history with a huge win at the new IEM championship in Beijing, China

Despite their agonizing defeat at ESL One against the current no.1 squad Evil Geniuses, it seems like it was not the end to the best European team, who once again taught international teams a lesson at IEM Beijing without losing any of the nine maps, beating several teams, most notably FaZe. Clan and 100 Thieves, who represented the final opponent in the tournament.

Whether competing on Vertigo, Nuke or Train, Astralis outperformed their opponent 100 Thieves to become the new IEM series champion thanks to an impressive performance by Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, MVP award-winning player of the tournament, and outstanding teammates. Thanks to the high level of sync between “gla1ve”, “device”, Xyp9x ”and“ Magisk ”the team has been able to restore confidence to its fans again.

The first game in Vertigo ended with a very close 16-14, with the opposing team almost winning, but Nuke carried a different story with a dominance of 16-5 while Train came to assure Thieves loss with a huge result 16-3, which gave the Danish team title and award as Astralis enters the Intel Grand Slam challenge with a one-point draw with Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses and Fnatic.

The new win at IEM Beijing will undoubtedly give the Danish team the boost they need to regain their number one spot at HLTV, ending Evil Geniuses’ short-lived joy. However, the challenge continues in 2019 with a few important tournaments remaining for the next few weeks, beginning with the finals the eighth season of ECS on November 28.
