BLAST Pro Series Global CS: GO finals to be held in the Middle East

One of the top tournaments of the year appears to be holding its finals in an Arab country for the first time ever, with BLAST Pro Series announcing the Kingdom of Bahrain as the destination for its upcoming $500,000 finals

With a number of successful local tournaments in the last few years, Bahrain is one of the leading countries in the Arab world in adopting esports and competitive video games, and thanks to the high popularity of Counter-Strike in the region, the CEO of BLAST Pro Series announced Bahrain has been selected for this year’s finals.

“Bahrain is the perfect place to hold the 2019 Global Final,” BLAST Pro Series CEO Robbie Douek said. “There is already a strong and engaged base of fans, an emerging scene of talented young players, and a country famed for its welcoming hospitality.”

The CS: GO Finals will take place on December 13-14, with prize money of $500,000 awarded to the top four teams out of seven competing teams based on points at various Blast Pro events that were held in Istanbul, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles and soon in Copenhagen, with Moscow event happening today.

Of the above events, Team Liquid has managed to score the most points so far with a total of 26 points thanks to coming in first place several times and a single win in LA, while Astralis came second with three other event wins totaling 22 points after losing some.

The rest of the teams include FaZe Clan third with 20 points, NiP with 10 points, and MIBR, Na’Vi, AVANGAR at the bottom of the standings.
