Cocodrilos emerge victorious in first Hearthstone OP Clan Brawl

OverPowered Network’s first Hearthstone Clan Brawl concluded Friday night with the triumph of Cocodrilos Esports over Respawn. The tournament which featured 4 of the region’s top Hearthstone Esports teams – Yalla Esports, Six Paths, Respawn and Cocodrilos Esports – was the first team-based hearthstone tournament held in the region.

The OP Clan Brawl was held over two days on June 28-29 and was streamed on OverPowered Network’s channels on both YouTube and Twitch with Arabic commentary provided by OPN’s own Khaled Aldoseri and Mohamed ‘Mo’ Meshael. Day 1 saw the fall of UAE-based Yalla Esports with their superstar roster which included 2017 WESG APAC Champion Mazen, Mysteriod and Saeed.

They were knocked out by Kuwaiti team and eventual winners of the competition Cocodrilos Esports in a close series that ended in 5-3.

Day 2 started with a thrilling semi-final match between team Six Paths of the UAE and Bahraini team Respawn who emerged victorious with star player Bites guiding her teammates BigBadFun and Mardo to a 5-2 victory. Six Paths’ team members
Frostseeker, Billythekid and KingSlayer put up a valiant performance but fell short.

The final match was dominated by Cocodrilos whose team members – Venn, Stealer and TurnoFF – capitalized on Team Respawn’s fatigue and maintained focus to crown themselves as the OP Clan Brawl champions with a convincing 7-1
score line.

OverPowered Network’s founder, Abdulla Al Khalifa, spoke of the company’s continued efforts to shed a bigger spotlight on the region’s Esports talents. “We want to continue giving regional teams and players a platform to showcase their
abilities and raise their profiles” he said, “We believe in the potential our region has to offer and would like the global Esports scene to take notice.”

After the conclusion of the Clan Brawl, OverPowered Network is now looking ahead to its upcoming tournament, Legends of Arabia Season 2. This single player Hearthstone tournament is a follow up to the highly successful first season held during Ramadan which featured 64 players from over 10 countries across the Arab world.
