Cross-play between different consoles is now a reality

How many times did you want to play with your friends who picked up the wrong console, or left you alone with your PS4 or Xbox One? This will soon end, with the announcement of full Cross-platform online play between all of the three consoles.

It’s time to take console wars to the next level. Now PS4 players can compete with Xbox One with this functionality that was confirmed at ID@Xbox One. The new feature will be released in future updates for the developers to choose whether or not to implement it in their games.

Microsoft had previously planned a cross-play between Windows 10 and Xbox One, but the feature now includes all of the platforms and specifically the PS4. Rocket League will be the first to implement that, as players from PC, PS4 and Xbox One will be playing it together for the first time soon.

Let’s see which big games might include this feature. Call of Duty between PC gamers and consoles? we sure hope so.
