Disappointing results mark the end of Virtus.Pro, SK Gaming and more teams’ journey at StarSeries S3 finals

The luck wasn’t on their side. Best CS: GO teams in the world fall on the doorsteps of StarSeries Season 3 playoffs after disappointing showing in the groups stage.

Fnatic managed to defeat the team that was fighting to be the best just a couple of weeks ago, as Virtus.Pro failed to make a comeback after two losses in front of SK Gaming and NiP. The match ended with 16-2 result marking the end of the Polish team’s dreams of advancing.

Counter Logic Gaming caused an upset as well after defeating Gambit in another surprising match. Despite Gambit’s record on Cobblestone the team was finally knocked down after 9 victories on the map by none other than CLG, who now has the same win-loss ration as Fnatic at 2-2, giving both teams the chance to advance if they win their upcoming match.

On their side, Immortals dominated MVP marking the end of the Korean’s journey at StarSeries and gaining an important point that gives Immortals a similar chance to CLG and Fnatic. North, on the other hand, had guaranteed a playoffs spot by beating FaZe yesterday 16-13. This made FaZe and SK Gaming match today all the more important, and the team didn’t hesitate to eliminate SK from competition and winning the spot for itself.

Hellraisers with win over Ninjas in Pyjamas joins Na’Vi, North and FaZe currently at playoffs. We’ll be waiting for matches that other teams will play to decide who else will be advancing.
