In an official statement by developer and publisher EA, it appears that a special event to honor the victims will soon be set up to raise funds for those affected, where EA itself will make an initial donation estimated at $1 million. The event is called Jacksonville Tribute and will be broadcast live on September 6.

“We can’t begin to understand the pain so many are going through nor do we pretend to have all the answers that will help us through the healing process,” the company wrote. “But as is so often the case, our community inspires us. The way you are coming together, and the outpouring of support for all those affected by this tragedy, is incredibly uplifting. We want to join you.”

The remaining Madden tournament qualifiers have been put on hold for the time being, but they will come back later as Matt Marcou, Madden’s commisioner stated that the love and support of fans is what makes the company wants to go forward.
